This season seems to be the one of reality shows on T.V. Our channels today are gushing with a multitude of diversified reality shows. The most popular among all is the mighty Big Boss 3(Colors), in which the contestants (who are mostly losers) spend a lifetime in a small house just to gain the little publicity and of course money. (Never cared much to understand what it is actually about).
Then on V-TV we have Dare to Date, on which we have the two most incompatible people on the planet encountering each other in order to find their love/life mates
in their counter-part (which they seldom do). But in this whole process the TRP is never compromised with.
NDTV imagine then presents us with Rakhi Ka Insaaf. LMAO. Formidable Rakhi Sawant sorts out the grudges between family members and brings them together. I bet she does.
Truth Love Cash (V-TV) and Splitsvilla (M-TV) are two programs I dare not watch. Master Chef India (Star Plus I guess!!) is yet another emotional drama packed cookery show hosted by Akshay Kumar. The Indian Audience surely falls for the food prepared with love and affection and that is what the producers have successfully capitalized on.
Then there is Big Switch (U-TV Bindass). The parents tired with their unruly kids (teenager, mostly) are granted an opportunity to spend a day with some other unruly kid and to act as his/her parent for a day. Whereas the Kid is also provided with a set of Replacement Parent (Yes, this is what they are called “Replacement Parents”) and at the end of the day some close relatives or friends act as judges to decide who had spent a better day without their biological relatives or rather with their replacement kid/parents.
Everything aside, there are two programs I can’t resist discussing about. The audacity and boldness of Axe Ur Ex (V-TV) and Emotional Attyachar (U-TV Bindass) is worth noting. These are the two programs having the boldest approach of all. In Axe Ur Ex, a guy/girl plays pranks on their Ex-girlfriends/ Ex-boyfriends and mind you these pranks are not always harmless. Apart from the public embarrassment and humiliation it creates it might also result in some sort of mental trauma if the victim of prank is not strong emotionally.
In Emotional Attyachar a guy/girl asks the show (Crew of Emotional-Attyachar) to conduct a loyalty test on their counter-parts (Boyfriend/Girlfriend/Best-friend/Wife/Husband……………….. etc.) under the hidden camera. The person being tested is ignorant about the test being conducted. She/he (Person being tested for loyalty) is made to meet an attractive person of opposite sex who enthralls the person and leaves him/her astray. Ultimately it is proved that she/he is not loyal and that too on National Television. Wtf. The public-image of the person is permanently shattered and she/he is left under severe mental stress after the whole hidden camera fiasco.
This whole thing needs to come to an end or else it would be made to do so after something majorly grievous happens.
So this time THINK TWICE.
Jai Hind.

The CAT fever!!!
Getting back to blogging after what seemed like an eternity really feels good. For the past one month or so I'd been busy preparing for CAT and I'd like to tell that it had been an amazing experience. As of now i don't know how successful i've been (the results will tell) but one thing is for sure : i enjoyed myself throughout the journey. At times i felt disappointed, defeated, fatigued but i'd say that in the end everything went well or it is the way i look at it. Whatever may be the results it hardly matters (well not actually, results do matter) but i gave my best shot and i could not have done better possibly. Now just waiting for the results and praying for the best.

Helpless UPA
Slightly digressing from what all i used to write, this time i thought i would write about the government.
Its already been over an year or the second term of UPA in power. The frist term had been a mixture of success and failure. Well, mostly success. But the coalition government ha been totally helpless in resolving some issues of the past whereas new issues have also coe into existence. I would like to cast an eye on four major issues in which the UPA had been totally unsuccessful.
First and the most important issue is hunger. India has the highest number of malnutritioned people in the world. It is shameful for a country like ours where 70% population is involved in agriculture. The problem is not the lack of food but the government's inability to store it. The farmers produce enough to feed every citizen of the nation, but because of the lack of adquate storage facilities, it all goes waste. Steps must be taken by the Center as well as the State govt. to look into the matter before the condition further exacerbates.
Second is the Kashmir issue. The issue which enraged two months back has already taken over 70 civilian lives and the government is still clueless and helpless on what needs to be done. According to me the govt., instead of imposing curfews, should reach the people, the stone pelting youth, talk to them on one-on-one basis and understand their problems. The outrage which is possibly incited by local politcians who fill the people with hatred against the government.Such politicians need to be identified and punished.
Third problem which the government faces today is naxalism. It has been present with us for years and is going to be if the government doesn't act smartly. Besieging their territory and killing them is no solution. The naxals needs to be talked with and their issues needs to be adderessed and considered. The Center and State govt. of C.G., Zharkhand, West Bengal, Bihar, Orrisa and A.P. should coordinate their actions and work collectively to find aa solution of this problem. In this context i would like to appreciate to action taken up by Bihar govt to hold talks with Naxals.
The last but the most important is the problems of UPA within itself. The coalition govt formed by Congress and allied parties are not confortable among themselves. They first need to resolve their internal issues only then can they solve he problems of the nation.
Jain Hind.
P.S. There is yet another issue which needs to be resolved: Inflation. Well we can just hope that the government gets its acts together before its too late.

Its time India Inc. calls for the second Green Revolution
After writing some book reviews i decided to write on a serious topic so i picked up the most important and yet the most ignored subject among the people : Agriculture.
India is the home for a forth of the world's population and of it the 65% has agriculture as their main occupation or rather their only source of employment. But it is surprising to see that only 15-18% of our GDP is contributed from agriculture and the share is constantly plummeting. On one hand millions of people sleep hungry every night whereas on the other hundreds of tonnes of wheat gets rotten down because of lack of adequate storage facilities. I suppose its time for India Inc. to divest some of its energy and resources to this field , before the conditions aggravates any further.
The aggressive industrialization and urbanization policies will do no good if the people still die out of hunger. Further more, if India wants to increase its GDP, then the first priority should be given to the field which employees the highest percent of people : agriculture.
A lot needs to be done in this field which includes proper and adequate subsidizing of fertilizers and seeds, providing the farmers with proper markets to sell their crops and get the right price for their work, educating them and industrialization of agriculture.
However the conditions are not completely grave as some private and govt. aided companies have emerged as the savior like Reliance and ITC and also some entrepreneur. But the government should rise up to help before its too late.

No mercy
Social perpetrators who deserve death penalty also deserve it to be pain-full. Yes, ppl who commit serious crimes should be served to a death which is unscrupulous, so as to set an example to those who wish ill for others. They should be awarded a death so that they succumb to their injuries and feel the pain that they have cascaded on others. Ppl who commit ofences like rapes and murders should be honored with a public decapitation. Now some ppl might find my idea cynical, but this is the way it is supposed to be.

Everyone is suffering form megalomania!!
Most of the ppl i talk to seem to be suffering form this
uncanny delusion. Megalomania: delusion of grandeur.
I donno y, but no one possesses modesty and other primary
human values. M not sure about my point of veiw but
this is the way things seems to be.
In this respect i wud like to point out a small anecdote
about Lord Ganesha and a donkey. Once a procession
was passing through a town... headed by an
idol of Lord Ganesha on the back of a donkey. All the
ppl cascaded flowers over the idol and off course the
donkey. It(the donkey) was being worshiped and it thought
the world is
progressing because of him. so it had a delusion that
he is very imprtnt. So it started walking slower, lazing
around coz it thought itself to be the leader of the pro-
cession.Noticing this the ppl got angry,
kicked the donkey away and removed Lord's
idol from his back, and started carrying the idol by themselves.
The donkey was surprised to see that he
was no more respected by the ppl.
It forgot that its not him but the Lord's idol
that is placed above his back, is respected.

Schizophrenia
Am i also a schizophrenic, living in this virtual world of mine, where everyone is just another character for me.Everyone is just another entity for me which delivers something and leaves. Is it a virtual world I am living in?
I feel sad when someone mocks at me, i feel glad when i am commended, i am anxious when i think about my future and i feel nostalgic thinking about the past.
My personal faith is that everyone in this world suffers from schizophrenia of a different level.Because everyone has a different level of conception and one can never compare his conception with another. There is no device yet discovered, which can imitate one's feelings and emotions . Its just the thoughts that can be deciphered and that too if one wishes to express them.

What is my destiny?
So, again i am writing about a subject that is abstract. Its a comparison between luck and fate.
I question, rather, i doubt the existence of fate. Has your fate been written and is the life you live predetermined? Is it so? Is it the fate that decides our future or is it our deeds? An unscrupulous murderer strolls around the town leisurely while an absolute law abiding citizen is imputed and is now behind the bars. Was this his fate or just a misfortune to be in the clutches for a crime he did not commit? It might be the ingenuity of the murderer that he absconded and an innocent was caught.
Of course fate has got nothing to do with a man's future. Its his deeds or fortune/misfortune that backs him. While some people might find it cynical, some might agree to this so bizarre a thought. There is a big difference between luck/fortune and destiny. A man can be lucky or unlucky, which completely depends on probability of occurrence of an event and surely not on fate. I am skeptical about the abstract presence of destiny and fate 'coz it has never been proved and can't be proved as well.
Where are you God?
Some people might feel offended after reading this one,
but i have tried not to hurt anyone's religious feelings here.
I feel that our world is full of myths and misconceptions
about the Supernatural. But does anything like this exist, or is it
just our fear of God that makes us believe in such things.
I think the latter. People are told stories about Gods and one
dare not question them. They ought to agree whatever they are being told.
But my conception is a bit different.
I believe that there is some Ultimate Power controlling
everything. Presence of that Power effects our life on this planet.
I believe that there is some abstruse
element, beyond our understanding, our imagination, Omnipotent, which controls it all.
That Super-powerful phenomena destined our birth and will decide our death.
I am not an atheist, nor am i an agnostic. But I am a monotheist.

The Impeccable
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, the apex, the magnum opus of the cricket world, the Indian run-machine and a lot more can be added to the eulogy of this little master blaster.
In 1989, when this mumbaikar made his debut at a tender age of 16 against Pakistan abandoning education for the sake of his first love CRICKET, who knew that 20 years from then, he'll be the king of his world. Soon after hitting his first century in international cricket, he found his second love, accidentally. Anjali Mehta, a medical student. Being in courtship with her for five years, he engaged her in 1994 and married her a year after. She had been her greatest support since then.
Lets take a look at some of his innumerable records and achievements:
Highest run scorer in test and one-day cricket
Maximum numbers of centuries in ODIs and test cricket
15 times man of the series(also a record)
61 times man of the match
the biggest of all: The only man on earth to score a double-ton in an ODI.
and a lot more.....
Life has not been a bed of roses for him. He faced many challenges in his 20 year long career. He Suffered a tennis elbow injury and trouble in his shoulder, but he stopped against none and roared again. Be it a fast bowler or a spinner, he thrashed each and every one of them.
The greatest player of the century is modest, humble and convivial by nature. Never do you find him involved in any controversies. Having a highly balanced personality who takes both criticism and praise as the way it comes to him, without being affected much by them. His calm and serene nature is adored by everyone he meets. His disciplined nature both on and off the field can not be neglected. Apart from the millions of chauvinistic followers, he is also admired by some of the world's greatest cricketers which includes Sanath Jaisurya, Shane Warne, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and many more. Chances are there that he is awarded with the highest civilian award "the Bharat Ratna".
I pray this this legendary player lives for a thousand more years and scores a million more runs for the country. Love You Sachin!!!
